i know i already put up my “merry christmas” post, but since the day is upon us I felt I would go ahead and post it again.
merry christmas to everyone. i hope you find the time to relax and enjoy the company of some friends and family. and some tasty eggnog.
christmas is approaching, and wanted to send out my best wishes to everyone.
and sorry, i couldn’t resist. just wow.
haven’t really posted anything about it, so i will now. harry potter and the goblet of fire. go see it. if you can, go see it on imax. if you haven’t seen the other three movies, or at least read the books, then please do so first, but go see it. it’s a great movie. again, i will emphasize imax. i’ve seen it once on imax, and once on standard, and the imax was so much better. they did a great job with it.
i actually think i’m going to check the imax schedule and see if/when they are playing it again on imax, or if they have switched full time to polar express. if they are playing it anytime soon, i might go see it on imax again.
moving along now..
found a great app on friday, Atomic Parsley. actually got a chance to play with it today, that allows you to set some of the internal flags and values that itunes likes to hide away for stuff from their itunes store.
specifically, i’m able to go in and flag a video as a tv show, so now on the ipod it gets properly categorized as a tv show.
good stuff. great stuff actually. now it’s not just one big darn video list on the ipod, but it actually breaks all my stuff down into tv shows, then seasons, then episode titles. very nice.
now if i can just find a way to get it to allow some sort of organization to the movies instead of a flat list, or relying on a single level of abstration by using playlists.

Powerline ethernet networking. What a great option. I’ve looked at it before, but never gave it too much credit, but saw some in Best Buy today and thought why not try it as a cleaner solution to my wireless link to the xbox downstairs.
What was wrong with the wireless solution? Nothing.. but using the bridged WRT54g units acted funny sometimes, and the biggest issue is the video streaming would chunk pretty often if I enable WPA security on my wireless network. Just too much to process for the little routers.
The solution? Plug a Netgear XE102 behind the tv and hook into a switch or into the xbox. Plug another Netgear XE102 in upstairs and into the router. Done. And that frees up my wireless connection to whatever security settings I want so my laptop can have a good connection.
I’m upset that I didn’t try it before.. but in my own defense when I looked at it before I would have to wait for shipping and such since no local retail outlets carried any of the equipment.
Very nice indeed.
it has been quite a long week.. that’s all i’m saying. it’s been a rough one. and for no good reason?
nothing good happening. nothing bad happening. no reasons at all. just one of those weeks.
but anyway you look at it, i LOVE my shirt.
thank you, drive through please.
lovely mac storage goodness. now i can stop using my windows box to sync with my ipod.. unfortunately the mini had 40gb to start with. the ipod stores 60gb. not good for sync’n eh?
yummy goodness, and it looks pretty nice ta’boot. love it.
now, need to go grab me a gig stick of memory for my mini and i’ll be a happy camper.
hmmmm.. wonder how many of these puppies you can stack cleanly?
